REVOLUTIONARY WAR SERVICE
Civil. Delegate to Maryland Provincial Convention.
Military. Captain, 1st Battalion of Freemen of the Middle District of Frederick Co., Maryland Militia, 1775. Family tradition reports that he was: in Quartermaster Department, Continental Army; a member of the Committee of Observation of Middle District, Frederick Co., Maryland. (however, tradition also reports that he served in Braddock Campaign of the French and Indian War, which he clearly could not have).


BIOGRAPHY
John Steiner, the son of Jacob Stiner, was born about 1757 in Frederick Co., Maryland and died in SEP 1798. He married Catherine Elizabeth Ramsburg, born 29 JUN 1739 in Frederick Co., Maryland and died 29 JAN 1792.
