REVOLUTIONARY WAR SERVICE
Military. Captian of the Militia, 3rd. Company, York Co., Pennsylvania, 1777. He was stationed at Camp Security, guarding prisoners NOV-DEC 1781.

BIOGRAPHY
George Weikert was born 2 FEB 1760 in Pennsylvania and died 20 JUL 1823. In about 1780 in York Co., Pennsylvania he married Anna Mariah Spitler, who was born 25 FEB 1760 in York Co., Pennsylvania and died in 1809 in Adams Co., Pennsylvania. In her application for the DAR, Jean McCleaf Brown further claims that George was son of John Andrew Wikert (born 1735 Germany, died 1791 Adams Co., Pennsylvania) and Mary Eve [--?--], who were married before 1760, and that George's father John served as a private at Camp Security (Pennsylvania Archives series 6, Volume 2, page 804).


George and Anna had the following children:

i. Catherine, born 30 JUL 1785, died 20 JAN 1874
ii. Jacob, born 22 MAR 1797 in York Co., Pennsylvania and doed 12 AUG 1878 in Adams Co., Pennsylvania
